Hearts have announced that midfielder Kenny Anderson has left the club ‘by mutual consent’.

The 23-year-old Dutchman, whose father is Scottish, signed for Hearts last February and scored on his debut. He was an important part of the squad that romped to last season’s Ladbrokes SPFL Championship but has not featured at all this season during Hearts impressive return to the top flight of Scottish football.

Hearts said on their official website that they thanked Anderson for his efforts and wished him all the best.

Meanwhile, Hearts Head Coach Robbie Neilson is hoping the Maroon Army will be out in force for this Saturday’s William Hill Scottish Cup tie with Aberdeen at Tynecastle.

“It would be fantastic to sell the Aberdeen game out, it would be great.” said Neilson.

“The backing that the fans give us at Tynecastle really lifts the team and it would be a great boost to have three stands full of maroon.”

Home end tickets are still available, priced at £20 for adults and £10 for concessions.

Hearts fans can buy tickets – two per account and subject to availability – by calling 0333 043 1874, option 1 then 1, by logging on to Hearts eTickets or by dropping into the Hearts Ticket Centre on McLeod Street.

Kick-off for the game is 5.30pm.
