Hibs’ Head Coach is looking forward to Saturday’s game against Raith Rovers at Easter Road and insists that his players won’t be feeling sorry for themselves after losing their unbeaten run to Rangers on Monday at Ibrox.

Despite taking the lead through a fantastic piece of skill from Jason Cummings, individual errors allowed Rangers to secure the three points in a hard fought encounter.

In addition, Falkirk’s victory over Livingston last night has seen the Bairns leapfrog Hibs into second place although Stubbs’ men have a game in hand.

Speaking to Hibs TV Stubbs said: “I’ve spoken to the players, both individually and collectively, about not feeling sorry for themselves. We’ve done really, really well up to now. If I was given this situation before the season started, would I have taken it? Of course I would have done.

“We’ve done really well up to now, and we can’t lose sight of that now because we’ve lost a game of football after 17 games. It doesn’t affect what we still want to achieve, it’s just a little bump, I said that there were going to be twists and turns. Saturday gives us a chance to go again.”

Stubbs also sent out  a message of thanks to Hibs’ fans who have backed the team, and those who have purchased a half season ticket for the remainder of the campaign – effective from Saturday’s match and  reached out to the supporters who have not committed to the rest of the season.

Stubbs continued: “The supporters who haven’t been here for whatever reason and have bought one, then welcome back and I hope you enjoy the football, the brand, the individuals and the team, that we are trying to bring to the club.

“For the ones who haven’t, then they are the ones who are going to have to make that decision for themselves. What I will say is that you are missing out. The second half of the season is turning out to be very exciting. We’re in a semi-final, the Scottish Cup to start and we’re firmly in the Championship race. I think that speaks for itself.”
