Scotland Women’s Under-17s qualified for the elite round of this season’s UEFA European Women’s Under-17 Championships despite a defeat to Austria in Kazakhstan this morning.

Goals from Bachler (15 & 65) and  Wienroither( 62) secured the victory for Austria.

The result means that  Pauline Hamill’s team finished second in their group behind Austria, who they will join in the next phase of qualification in early 2016.

A draw against Latvia in their opening match followed by a thumping 4-0 victory over the hosts Kazakhstan left Scotland on four points in the group, two more than Latvia in third.

Scotland: Cumings(GK), Cunningham, Cameron, Doran-Barr, Kerr(C), Dalgliesh, Notely, Napier, Gordon (Gollan 38’), Mcdonald, B. Hay.

Subs not used: Clachers(GK), Mcalpine, Nagle, Mcgregor, Farquhar, Rice.
