Hibernian Development Squad  beat league leaders Aberdeen 4-2  at Ainslie Park yesterday with Farid El Alagui  (2),  Jamie Insall and  Ryan Porteous on the score sheet.

Insall opened the scoring before El Aalgui doubled Hibs’ advantage..

David Dangana pulled one back for the Dons in the 20th minute then El Alagui grabbed his second. Ryan Porteous made it 4-1 just before the break

Michael Rose made it 4-2 in the 56th minute.

After the game Joe McBride, Hibs U20 Development Coach, told the club website: “The teams today were both very young sides with a couple of more experienced players on each side, it was great that there were so many young players on display.

“I thought in the first half we played incredibly well and created a lot of chances and in the second half Aberdeen came into it and had more possession, but we still created chances and when we got the ball we just didn’t keep it as well as I’d have liked.

“I was disappointed to lose a goal at a set-play, but we got two from them. It was a good game and a lot of young talent on show.”

Hibernian Development Squad: Brennan, Dunsmore, Stirling (Donaldson, 83), Waugh, Porteous, Scott, Murray (Breen, 66), Duthie, El Alagui, Shaw (Watson, 72), Insall. Unused substitutes: Goodfellow, Smith.
