Another first for Urbane Art Gallery
Urbane Art Gallery in Edinburgh is featuring one of the world’s best known light painting artists Janne Parviainen in its new show ’Illumination’ which runs from may 21 to June 14.
Janne Parviainen is a 34-year-old artist from Helsinki, Finland. His work has been featured in various magazines and art blogs such as The National Geographic, The Guardian, Daily Mail, Wired, Juxtapoz, Spiegel Online, Metro News paper and Yahoo News. Janne has worked with well known brands such as Adobe Systems Inc., Olight and Nippon Television producing high level artistic material for commercial use.
The show, at the Urbane Gallery on Edinburgh’s Jeffrey Street, will feature a retrospective of his iconic light art photography, including Days Of Our Lives, which is featured in the National Geographic Yearbook 2015. The exhibition will open with an artist talk on long exposure photography.

Other new works being featured at the show are abstracts by Swiss artist Rudolf Frankhauser and contemporary landscapes by the popular Edinburgh artist, Rosie Playfair.
Gallery Director, Tracey Robertson said: ”Our visitors always expect to see something new and different in our gallery, and this exhibition will not disappoint. It will be a colourful, bright, electric display of stunning but diverse artwork by established and successful artists.”
