GT_Hamlet_fbcover“Madness in great ones must not unwatched go”.

Confined in a place where everything is ambiguous, witness Hamlet’s mental and physical worlds unravel in a production that delves into the inner-turmoil, conflict and paranoia tormenting the young Prince. Facing an existence of incessant monitoring, infinite deception and increasing insanity, Hamlet treads the precarious path from uncovering the reality of his beloved Father’s death to seeking vengeance against his Uncle.

Fresh from a superbly received debut at the Brighton Fringe, Gin & Tonic Productions Limited’s powerful, hour-long adaptation “is overflowing with passion and tragedy, brilliantly representing one man’s struggle with reality. It is a great success.” (The Argus).

This adaptation by directors Henry Conklin and Elske Waite’s of what is widely regarded as one of Shakespeare’s finest works aims to create not only an enthralling, but more over an accessible approach to the work.

Through utilising an ensemble cast Gin & Tonic Productions Limited
highlight the notion of Hamlet’s mental instability, shown through the double casting of Ophelia and Gertrude, played by Isobel Moulder, or King Claudius and the Ghost of King Hamlet, played by Peter Stanley (“Flawless”, The Saint). Olivier Huband (”Tremendous poise, powerful delivery”, Edinburgh 49) takes on the role of Hamlet, with the ensemble completed by Pedro Leandro, Jordan Roberts-Laverty and Benjamin Aluwihare (“Absolutely compelling”, All Edinburgh Theatre).

“This is a new look at Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy, one that will not fail to entice and excite.” (The Argus)

Gin & Tonic Productions Limited is a fledging Edinburgh-based theatre company founded by Henry Conklin, Christopher Sladdin and Elske Waite. The company aims to create theatre that draws heavily from contemporary practices to create theatre that is intense, raw and electric.
