TER Britannia

This competition has ended on 26 March 2014.

The Royal Yacht Britannia is a fabulous attraction for Edinburgh to have in its midst.  Berthed next to Ocean Terminal in Leith, it is open to tourists and locals most of the year, closing only on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

A ticket for Britannia ranges from £7.75 for children to £12.75 for adults. There is an option to buy a family ticket and there is discount for HM Armed Forces. All ticket details are here.  But just listen to this – the ticket can turn out to be a really good deal.

After you purchase your ticket to visit Britannia, you are entitled to apply for a free Annual Pass to go back and visit for the following 12 months. When you return, your pass also entitles you to a 15% discount in the Tea Room and Gift Shop. On our recent visit The Edinburgh Reporter met a local who was simply popping in to Britannia for a morning coffee as she had bought a ticket and validated it so that it lasts for a year.

You should ask for details of the Annual Pass when you buy your ticket in the shop which is situated in Ocean Terminal.

To enter this competition fill in the form below which gives you the option of subscribing to our daily email update which has links to all latest news articles. Your email address can also be forwarded to Royal Yacht Britannia who will send you further information about Britannia tours if you choose to tick that box. Neither of these fields are mandatory, but we would very much like you to oblige!

The tour around Britannia is guided by an audio set which is translated into many languages. This makes it very easy to take foreign guests with you to learn about the yacht and its Royal history.   The barge lying alongside was often used by the Royal Family when they sailed the west coast of Scotland to go ashore in remote locations for a picnic.

SONY DSCNow the Royal Deck Tea Room offers you cream teas, soup and all sorts of tasty morsels. Tea is of course served in silver tea pots and china cups. Only the best!

Our competition winner will receive two tickets for admission, lunch for two and a ‘Her Ladyship’ mug. Good Luck! The competition will close on  26 March 2014 at 5pm so this would be a great Mother’s Day treat!

  2. hiya Pyllis, your very welcome, as I now reside in Rotherham South Yorkshire, I like to try and keep up with all the news from Edinburgh, I have found that the Evening news doesn’t keep much news up to date where as the reporter does which I like, I look forward to staying informed with the ER 🙂
