The incident happened around midday on Saturday 4th January at the Robert Anthony store on Rose Street. Ā A man entered the shop and enquired about engagement rings, and as he was doing so, second man entered the store and distracted the other member of staff who was working within.

The first man then snatched the rings and both men made off west along Rose Street before being lost to sight.

Officers are now asking anyone who can assist with their enquiries into this theft to come forward.

The combined value for the stolen rings is Ā£21,000.
