Operation Cipher is being launched this morning in the Calders area of the city at Medwin House. We will be there to meet as many of the agencies who are taking part as we can. These will include Lothian and Borders Police, Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service, NHS Lothian, the City of Edinburgh Council who are heading up the event, as well as many other groups who are trying to help with the month long programme.
The agencies are determined to make it easier for residents in the Calders to report matters of concern to them, as well as getting information and other help when they need it. There will be sports organised for children such as kayaking and canoeing as well as a mobile football pitch.
The Reporter spoke to Councillor Cammy Day, Community Safety Leader for the Council to find out more:-
We will be live blogging the event below. We will be using Twitter to update the commentary, with photos where possible. You will also be able to find links to some audio interviews recorded throughout the morning, and we may even do a little video coverage if we can. You may comment too!
