FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY AT THE RNLI QUEENSFERRY LIFEBOAT STATION’S OPEN DAY ON SUNDAY 17TH. JUNE FROM 12NOON TO 4PM AT THE HAWES ESPLANADE, SOUTH QUEENSFERRY.

All the family can enjoy an action packed afternoon at the RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat Station’s Open Day and Fete with a full programme ashore and on the water. On shore will be a children’s Fun Fair, the Army Cadets’ climbing wall, face painting, tombola,strawberries and cream, cream teas and hamburgers kindly supplied and cooked by Frankie and Benny chefs and there be an opportunity to win a gallon of whisky in naming the lucky Lifeboat Station. The entertainment will kick off with Loretto School Pipes and Drums followed by the Caledonian Kickers line dancers. Next up a terrific rescue display by the magnificient Newfoundland Dogs and then the ever popular young dancers from Central Scotland Ballet School will entertain us.

All afternoon the Queensferry Rowing Regatta will take place with twelve boats from Fife and the Lothians competing with a backdrop of the Forth Bridges making for a very impressive spectacle.

Barring an emergency call-out at 2pm. the Search and Rescue helicopter from HMS Gannet will team up with the RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat, the busiest inshore Lifeboat in Scotland last year, in a dramatic rescue demonstration in a display not to be missed and at 4pm. there will be another terrific spectacle with the three Targe Towing Tugs based at Hound Point giving a spectacular fire fighting display between the Forth Bridges.

All proceeds will help support your local RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat and the dedicated team of volunteers to keep up the great work they do 24 hours a day, saving lives at sea, so please come along for a great fun day out and you will be helping us to help others.
