A colourful protest by Sikhs took place outside Holyrood today to highlight injustice in India, and particularly that of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana who was to be hanged on 31 March 2012 for the assassination of a government Minister.

The group gathered outside the Parliament building in an effort to draw attention to alleged atrocities in India. Balwant Singh Rajoana is accused of assassinating the Chief Minister Beanta who the group say is responsible for the deaths of 50,000 innocent Sikhs.

There are also claims of genocide in India in 1984 when hundreds of men, women and children were raped, butchered or burnt alive.
