Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for witnesses following a hit and run incident in Edinburgh.
A 13-year-old schoolboy was crossing the road in Queensferry Terrace at around 8.10am this morning when he was involved in a collision with a blue car. The boy fell to the ground before the driver of the car drove off Northwards towards Queensferry Road, where it was lost to sight.
The schoolboy was taken to The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he was treated for a suspected broken leg.
The vehicle has only been described as being a blue, medium size car.
Police are checking nearby building to see if any CCTV captured collision or the vehicle making off.
Meanwhile, officers are urging anyone who saw the collision to come forward.
A police spokesperson said “This schoolboy sustained a serious injury as a result of this collision and it is vital we trace the driver of the vehicle to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident. We would ask that they make contact with police immediately. The area around Queensferry Road and Queensferry Terrace would have been busy at the time with parents dropping their children off at nearby schools anyone who may have witnessed the collision is also asked to get in touch.”
