Councillors who blog – Council consultation – Allotments – Filmhouse – Greener Leith

Local blogger Kim Harding has drawn up the very short list of elected councillors who blog here.  This is very poor really in terms of sheer numbers,  but if it is quality rather than quantity which counts then we can commend them all to you as excellent reading material. Councillors are busy people, but we are firmly of the view that those who blog, write and tweet are among the most effective… Anyone out there going to prove us wrong? Any councillor want to know how to set up their own blog? We will happily organise a workshop for you!

There is a consultation being carried out by Edinburgh council this month and next on school term dates for next year, so if this is something which affects you then you can have your say here.

There may still be time to register for a place on the allotment course being run by the Council and Bridgend Growing Community on Saturday 25 February 2012. You can get more details here. Also there is a Potatoes Day on Sunday at Bridgend which current or potential allotment holders might benefit from. At Bridgend Farm there are 54 allotments but a five year waiting list.  Do you have an allotment? Would you like to show it off to us and tell us more about it?

The Filmhouse is showing The Artist tonight at 6.00p.m. If the pundits know their stuff then this film might pick up some Oscars this weekend.

Greener Leith are proud to advise that you can now read their blog on a Kindle! Of course you can also read The Edinburgh Reporter on a Kindle, and have been able to for some time. It would greatly help us if you do subscribe to the service, or if, like Greener Leith you advertise with us either on our banner or sidebar, or by using our self service Addiply ads…. Go on try it out!
