The     Scottish Government is being accused of removing information from its files about the Edinburgh Trams project. The Labour party made an FOI request to see some of the government documents and they have received files which are heavily covered in black ink according to The Press Association. 

Edinburgh West MP Mike Crockart is asking for the Army base at Craigiehall to be retained as the Scottish HQ rather than it being scrapped as is proposed in the Strategic Defence Review according to Ian Swanson writing in The Scotsman.  

Christmas starts today. At least it does if you live in Edinburgh. We took this photograph earlier in the week, but this evening all the lights will be switched on and you will be able to enjoy the full twinkliness all around the city centre. The tram works have been temporarily stopped in Princes Street to allow the area to be used for a variety of Christmas festivities.Edinburgh’s Christmas announced:-“This year Princes Street will be transformed to embrace festive activities like never before. Events and activities will take place on Princes Street running throughout the Christmas season, with particular emphasis on the Thursday to Sunday period. From this Saturday special events taking place will include reindeer visits, the return of the Santa Express, performance space for buskers and choirs, a Santa Zumbathon, live ice sculpting, eating and drinking al fresco as well as other events yet to be announced according to Edinburgh’s Christmas. One surprise event which will take place is snowboarding at the West End…..read more about that on STV.
