The Caledonian Hilton Hotel has raised over £8,000 for a city football club.
The hotel’s fundraiser saw hundreds of participants walk, run and cycle throughout the day in all three hotels as part of Hilton in the Community Foundation’s annual ‘Around the World in a Day’ fundraising programme. The initiative sees hotel teams across Europe attempt to collectively cover enough virtual kilometres to circumnavigate the circumference of the earth, with each hotel choosing a local children’s charity to support.
Caledonian Hilton held a fundraising challenge in the hotel’s Castle Lounge where team members, charity partner Lasswade Thistle Youth Academy, and members of the public all worked together to clock up 2,168 sponsored kilometres on stationary bicycles in seven hours.
The hotel previously joined Lasswade Thistle Youth Academy to host a special family fun day at Lasswade Pavilion on the 28 May 2011, raising £3,091.92 then for the Youth Academy.
