Salary: £27,106 – £32,423 (pro-rata)
Hours:  18 per week
Pilton Video delivers a high quality professional education, training and production programme for young people and adults in moving image. In line with the key priorities of the Children and Families Department the project delivers a specialised targeted education programme for the lowest achieving 20% of the city, and supports staff and learners in formal and informal settings in delivering moving image education in collaboration with colleagues across the department. The project staff are based in a dedicated community resource in North Edinburgh and are part of the Arts and Learning team of City of Edinburgh Council. The retention of the original Trust status has allowed Pilton Video to access considerable external funding from trusts, foundations and particularly from Creative Scotland. The Trust is made up of experienced local people, educationalists and industry professionals, who work supportively and collaboratively with the City of Edinburgh Council line manager of the staff.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
