The council received the ‘Recognised for Excellence’ accolade at the Scottish Awards for Business Excellence this week.

The achievement and endeavours of staff at The City of Edinburgh Council have been honoured at the prestigious Scottish Awards for Business Excellence gala lunch held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

The staff celebrated success in the coveted Recognised for Excellence category. This is a Europe-wide recognition scheme that is designed for organisations that are well on their way to organisational excellence.

The success highlights the Council’s ability to maintain a consistently high level of ‘best practice’ quality procedures within its business excellence strategy.

Sue Bruce, Chief Executive, said:- “We are delighted with this award which demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement. Thanks go to the sterling effort shown by all our staff. They’ve done so much great work to reach this milestone and I am very proud of the recognition they have achieved.

“The corporate management team fully supports the development of a culture of excellence which is embedded in our daily working lives and remains in place to ensure that our focus is clearly on delivering outcomes for the City of Edinburgh.”

The City of Edinburgh Council won the award at the 20th anniversary of the Scottish Awards for Business Excellence, where they were joined by hundreds of guests to celebrate Scotland ‘s outstanding achievements in the field of business excellence.
