There is a job available with the Scottish Canoe Association which is based at South Gyle in Edinburgh.
This is what the advert says:-“The SCA seeks to recruit an SCA Development Officer. This is a key role in the development of canoeing in Scotland. The aim is to support the work of volunteers in the SCA and in SCA Affiliated clubs:
1.To provide advice and guidance to SCA volunteers and club committees across a range of areas
2.To support SCA committees and clubs running more/better activities/events
3.To develop additional SCA membership benefits and to improve information available
4.To work to ensure that canoeing (through the SCA, its committees and Clubs) is equitable and to identify ways to help more people take to the water.
5.To develop and implement an SCA Volunteer Strategy
This is a full time, employed post, created by the SCA Board for an initial period of 12 months. Objectives and targets will be set, in conjunction with the successful candidate, to measure the effectiveness of this post in developing canoeing in Scotland.
Working hours: 37.5 working hours per week – to be worked with flexibility to suit the needs of the role.
Salary: £23,000 – £27,000
