A little bit of New York is coming to Edinburgh this spring with a free event for home workers at The Melting Pot on Rose Street.
Jelly was started in New York three years ago by a couple of IT freelancers working from home who felt the need to get out more.
A casual co-working event where people come together to work for the day, Jelly now happens in over 100 cities worldwide.
The Edinburgh Jelly is being organised by The Melting Pot, a social enterprise set up to enable people working for more than profit to share workspace, ideas, connections and inspiration.
‘Isolation is one of the biggest challenges of working from home,’ says Managing Director Claire Carpenter, ‘Jelly is a friendly way for home workers to get out of their home office for a change of scene, a good chat and a shot of inspiration. That’s what we’re all about at The Melting Pot, so when we heard about Jelly we decided to host one here.’
The Melting Pot will provide free wi-fi access, Fairtrade tea and coffee, workspace and comfy sofas.
Edinburgh Jelly will take place from 2pm to 9pm on Thursday 27 January. For more information see The Melting Pot’s website
