Many families living with epilepsy in Edinburgh and the Lothians already know why Barnardos and the Marsh Trust have chosen Epilepsy Scotland’s social worker Michael Adair and youth worker Zoe Reid as winners of their UK award. Both staff members were publicly honoured for their ‘Outstanding Achievement in work with Children and Families’ at a prestigious ceremony in London.
Chief Executive Lesslie Young is delighted by this achievement: “It is marvellous that our dedicated staff are being recognised for the valuable support they provide to so many vulnerable families, young people and children. It is a measure of how superb they are in their roles. I know this national award was hotly contested by many worthy candidates. The Trustees did not have an easy task picking the winning nomination. What impressed them the most apparently were comments from families living here in Scotland about the enormous contribution Michael and Zoe make to the lives of others. This award is really also for them.”
