Registration week starts on Monday 15th November and parents are being asked to contact catchment schools to find out which day they will be registering pupils.

Parents should go along to the school with their council tax assessment letter, a recent utility bill and their child’s birth certificate.

Out of catchment requests

Parents can make a placing request for another school in the city by collecting a non-catchment placing request form from the catchment primary school at the time of registration. Application forms will also be available on the Council’s website from 11th November.

Completed application forms must be received by 24th December and, provided places are available the chosen school, a child will be offered a place.

Moving to secondary school

Letters will be issued by pupil post from mid-November to parents of P7 pupils to confirm the secondary school serving their home address. No further action is normally required if a child is to attend the catchment secondary school.

Parents can make a placing request for another secondary school by collecting an application form from any City of Edinburgh Council primary school or by downloading one from the council’s website. The deadline for receipt of non-catchment application forms is 24 December.
