Home working parents are offered a chance to escape the kids this autumn by The Melting Pot on Rose Street in Edinburgh. The social enterprise is hosting a Jelly co-working day especially for parents whose home offices are over-run by small children.
The Parents’ Party with Jelly will take place on Thursday 28 October, 9am – 9pm. Fifteen free places are available to book at http://parentspartywithjelly.eventbrite.com/
A casual co-working event where people come together to work for the day, Jelly now happens in over 100 cities worldwide.
The day is organised in partnership with two organisations based at The Melting Pot who support working parents: Fathers Network Scotland and Working for Parents. “Isolation is one of the biggest challenges of working from home for anyone, and we also know how easily modern working fathers can start to feel isolated,” says David Drysdale of Fathers Network Scotland. “So we’re delighted to be involved with The Melting Pot Jelly. It’s a great opportunity for parents to come and try out a brilliant resource; not just a good working environment but also a community of like-minded people.”
Annabel Latto of Working for Parents adds, “I worked as a remote employee for a number of years and I know how isolating and de-motivating it can be. Our organisation works with many parents who are working from home and we know how important it is for them to get out of the house and engage with others in a similar situation.”
