Dolly, Magrit, Doreen and Mrs Culfeathers are back in Tony Roper’s hilarious new touring production of The Steamie, unashamedly played for laughs with a dream cast of Scotland’s finest performers.

Premiered by groundbreaking agitprop theatre company Wildcat way back in 1987, The Steamie has since become a keystone of Scottish theatre. Loved by millions it reflects the struggles, camaraderie and strength of working class women in Fifties’ Glasgow.

Tony Roper’s beloved Scottish classic ‘The Steamie’ is back on a nationwide tour in 2026. Marking Tony Roper’s final time directing his iconic 1950s washhouse comedy, the production visits major Scottish venues throughout the Autumn featuring Ali Cleland as Magrit and Louise McCarthy as Dolly.
