Workers in Midlothian who want to earn better wages are being urged to attend a free jobs fair next week.
The one day event will offer people the chance to learn how to find higher paid employment as well as offer alternative career advice and support people with filling in job applications.
Employer ranging form NHS Lothian to Starbucks will be on hand to give more information about the opportunities on offer for people looking for a change.
And advisers from organisations including Archaeology Scotland, Street League, the Department for Work and Pensions, Skills Development Scotland, Capital City Partnership and Business Gateway will be there to chat about what they can offer with live CV writing support on the day.
Launched on Scotland’s first National Employability Day, on Thursday, September 10, the fair, will run from 1030am to 1.30pm in St John’s & Newton Church, Eskbank Road, Dalkeith, and is open to all Midlothian residents.
Annette Lang, Group Service Manager for Midlothian Communities, Lifelong Learning and Employability, said: “This fair is a great opportunity for residents to meet employers face to face, find out about vacancies and access practical support. We know that looking for work can be challenging, and bringing employers and employability services together in one place can help people take a step towards their next job.”
