The swimming pool in Portobello is currently closed to customers on a temporary basis.
The difficulty is the heating and hot water systems and Edinburgh Leisure has confirmed that work will begin on Monday.
“Portobello Swim Centre remains closed as the building currently has no heating or hot water, meaning it cannot operate safely.
“The current closure is due to an unexpected fault and is not related to the refurbishment project planned to take place at the venue.
“We understand how disappointing and disruptive this closure is for customers, clubs and the wider local community, and we apologise for the inconvenience it is causing.
“Our maintenance team is working closely with external gas engineers to resolve the heating and hot water fault as quickly as possible. The next phase of this work is expected to begin on 7 September, and we hope to have a clearer understanding of the likely reopening timescale after that.
“In the meantime, all activities and operations at Portobello Swim Centre will remain suspended until further notice.
“We will continue to keep customers, staff and the local community updated through our website, app notifications, email communications and venue notices.”
