A young Warrender under-17 water polo team reinforced by players from fellow Edinburgh clubs Stingrays and Portobello gained valuable experience competing in an international under-18 field for the BMC Trophy.
The tournament, one of a trilogy being held in the back end of this year and hosted by the Dunfermline club, honours the memory of Scottish water polo legend, Brian Macdonald Campbell.
A few weeks ago a Portobello mixed team finished runners up in the under-15 version and from 11-13 December boys’ under-18 teams will take to the pool for the concluding instalment.
The Warrender girls did well to finish ninth overall ahead of Irish challengers Clonard and Half Moon with Menzieshill bringing up the rear.
The tournament, in which Warrender’s Emily Lake finished among the top goal scorers, was won by City of Bristol who defeated London side Otter in the final.
