During London Fashion Week Dr Eunice Olumide, MBE, collaborated with Oxfam for The Future of Fashion, an evening challenging the industry to imagine where fashion could be by 2035.
Dr Olumide showed a sample collection from her radical new fashion venture, Trillionaire Apparel (TRNAIR) for the first time.
Created from recycled and upcycled garments, clothing offcuts and discarded materials, TRNAIR transforms fashion’s unwanted leftovers into bold, individual pieces, turning waste into desire and challenging what we consider valuable, luxurious and wearable.
Described by Rolling Stone as “your favourite creative’s favourite creative” and a “maverick”, and by Vogue as “one of the most famous activists in the modelling world,” Olumide has spent two decades disrupting the boundaries between fashion, art, music, media and social change.
Now Scotland’s first Black supermodel is bringing that spirit of reinvention to her own label. She said: “Growing up in a typical British council estate was hard for us all. I just want to make second hand fashion cool. Working in sustainability for more than a decade I feel like
there’s a massive disconnect. TRNAIR is about individuality, freedom and making the ordinary extraordinary.”
Eunice Olumide took to the catwalk along with other models to show off the new collection.
