Marko Ivezić can’t wait to get a taste of the Easter Road atmosphere on the pitch, having sat in the stands for last night’s Edinburgh Derby.
The 24-year-old became Hibs eighth signing of the summer transfer window, joining from 2. Bundesliga club Holstein Kiel on a three-year deal.
With experience in the first and second tiers of German football, and having been part of the Holstein Kiel side that achieved promotion to the top-flight in 2023/24, Ivezić is hoping to utilise his experience in Leith.

After Ivezić completed his first training session alongside Alex Williams on Friday at HTC, he sat down with Hibs TV.
He said: “It’s really nice, and from the first moment when I started to speak with the Club, I had a good feeling, and I’m really, really happy that I’m here and to help.
“It’s a historical Club and it’s a Club with good history, and it’s for me a good step next to come here to improve, and I’m really happy to join.
“I spoke with the Sporting Director, and I spoke with David [Marshall] as well as other people who had experience in Scotland.
“I heard everything and a lot of positive things, so this is why I decided to join.
“I played first in Serbia with FK Voždovac, and that was my first professional club, and then joined Holstein Kiel.
“We got promoted to the German Bundesliga in my first year, and that was also the first time in the history of the club that they played in the Bundesliga, and for me as well.
“It’s a really competitive league, and every game it’s very hard, but it’s always possible to take points.
“It’s the same in the 2. Bundesliga, but the Bundesliga is better in terms of a lot of individual-quality players.
“It’s not easy, but it was really nice to experience, and I was a much better player after the season. Every game was important, and it made you get better.
“I would say my best position is centre-back on the right or left side. I can also play as a midfielder, but I think centre-back is the best position for me.
“I would say I’m aggressive, have a lot of character, and am good on the ball, and also quick for this position.”
Elsewhere, Ivezić has set his sights on international honours and is convinced that he can unlock his true potential and add to his solitary Serbia cap during his time at Easter Road.
He added: “That’s probably the proudest moment in my career – representing my country – and I also played with the U21s.
“That was for sure one proud moment, and I hope that in the future I’ll have that again.
“I think playing for Hibs helps make it more possible [to represent my country], and it was a lot of these good things that helped me decide about this move, and it made me happy.
“I was at Easter Road yesterday, so I saw the fans and the atmosphere, so I’m really excited to play my first game, to feel it and to win matches.”
