Police in Edinburgh have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in the Oxgangs area.
Officers received a report of an injured man on Oxgangs Bank around 1.35am this morning Saturday 15 August 2026.
An ambulance also attended and a 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said that they are treating the death as ‘unexplained’.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.35am on Saturday, 15 August, 2026, we were called to a report of a man found injured on Oxgangs Bank, Edinburgh.
“Police and ambulance attended and the 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.”
