Moray Pryde, from Lothian Running Club is this year’s winner of the venerable Edinburgh Seven Hills race where runners have to plot their own course over capital peaks starting and finishing on Calton Hill.

Moray has pedigree having won the Loch Ness race twice and also the Edinburgh Marathon. His winning time was 1hr 39 mins 18 seconds over the seven hills.

Runner-up was Charles Houston who was seven seconds behind while Isla Cubitt won the women’s race in 2.01.26.

It was back in 2024 – the same year that he took top spot at the Edinburgh Marathon – that Moray completed back-to-back wins in the Loch Ness Marathon shattering a 15 year course record held by Kenya’s Simon Tonui (2009).

He is also accomplished in trail and mountain running events.
