Hibernian FC Women have announced the permanent signing of defender Sofie Keenan from NIFL Premiership side Glentoran.
The 20-year-old Northern Irish full-back signs for an undisclosed fee and put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Club.
Keenan is an NIFL Premiership champion, having played a key part in Glentoran’s 2025 title-winning campaign, during which she was named the Glens’ Young Player of the Year.
The former Northern Irish youth international joined Glentoran from Linfield in January 2024 and has since made over 70 appearances in the Northern Irish topflight.
She has also gained valuable European experience, featuring in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
She will wear the number 55 for the Hibees.
After signing, Keenan said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be here. I think it’s a really special moment for me and my family, moving to a full-time environment and a professional club.
“It was something I couldn’t turn down. I think this is the right step for me. It came at the perfect time. Hibs is such a massive club and it’s something I want to be part of, so it’s special to be here.”
Hibs Women Head Coach Joelle Murray added: “Sofie is a really exciting signing for Hibs. She is a young player with huge potential and a Northern Ireland youth national team international who has already shown her quality at a high level.
“She’s a quality left-footed left-back, composed on the ball and provides plenty of energy and ability going forward. She’ll be a fantastic addition to the squad and I’m looking forward to seeing her develop further in green and white.”
