A MAJOR exhibition celebrating 200 years of Scottish photography is running at Dalkeith Palace for the next month.
PhotoDalkeith RSA200 forms part of the Royal Scottish Academy’s bicentenary programme and is running from 22 August to 27 September.
The showcase brings together historic works, contemporary practice and new commissions to explore Scotland’s pioneering role in the art form.
Visitors can also attend special events throughout the run celebrating the connections between photography, art, music and literature.

Presented by the Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust alongside the Royal Scottish Academy and Studies in Photography, the event serves as the principal photography showcase for the nationwide RSA200 celebrations.
Highlights of the accompanying events programme include Ian Hamilton Finlay: Concrete as an ART FORM on 6 September and Ruskin Live on 13 September.
The Orkney Sequence takes place on 20 September, followed by Hill and Adamson: Pioneers of Photography on 26 September.
The exhibition is open Friday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm, with admission priced at £3.
The exhibition is sponsored by BTO Solicitors LLP.
Charlotte Rostek of Dalkeith Palace & Country Park said: “PhotoDalkeith continues to grow each year, and this year we’re delighted to have partnered with the Royal Scottish Academy for their bicentenary celebrations.
“BTO’s support will help us bring alive this year’s celebrations through the events in greater style — adding real value to our events delivery for speakers, performers and guests.”
