Police have arrested and charged two men aged 29 and 56 following two housebreakings in East Lothian.
The first incident occurred around 1.40am on Saturday, 4 July, 2026 where a property was broken into in the West Garleton area of Haddington, which resulted in a car being stolen from outside.
The second incident occurred around 3.20am where the stolen vehicle was involved in a housebreaking at a premises in High Street Gullane.
Nothing was taken during the second incident, and the stolen vehicle was subsequently traced in the Musselburgh area on Wednesday, 8 July, 2026.
The men were arrested and charged in connection and released on an undertaking to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.
