A 51-year-old man was arrested yesterday Friday 17 July 2026 after police were called to the Bailie Grove area of Edinburgh in response to reports of a ‘man with a weapon’.
Numerous officers attended the scene around 11.35am.
Police later confirmed that no weapons had been recovered and no-one was injured however their enquiries are onoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.35am on Friday, 17 July, 2026 officers received a report of a man with a weapon in the Bailie Grove area of Edinburgh.
“Officers, including specialist officers, attended and searches remain ongoing.
“No weapon has been recovered and there are no reported injuries.
“A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
