On Wednesday this week the NHS Retirement Fellowship Edinburgh and Lothians branch will be holding a lunch to celebrate their 45th anniversary.
The meal is for around 55 members and invited guests and will be held at Ravelston House Hotel in Musselburgh.
The parent body NHS Retirement Fellowship which has around 8,000 members who regularly organise outings and trips to keep relationships between former staff alive.
Vincent Rowantree was an occupational therapist with the NHS and recommends it as a way for previous members of staff and their partners to keep in touch. He said this is the only branch which meets weekly.
