Livingston open their league season by entertaining Queen’s Park to Almondvale (kick-off 15.00) and the Glasgow side are beginning their fifth straight campaign in the William Hill Championship.
The West Lothian side, who are a former club of Queen’s manager, Sean Crighton, hope to return to the top flight at the first attempt, but the visitors also have ambitions.
Both clubs narrowly missed out on qualification for the knockout stage of the Premier Sports Cup and The Spiders have injury concerns ahead of the fixture.
Bulgarian forward Nikolay Todorov and goalkeeper David Mitchell are recovering from injuries as is midfielder Zach Mauchin who has been sidelined for 18 months.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Cammy MacPherson has joined the Lions after featuring as a trialist in the Premier Sports Cup victory over Forfar Athletic where he impressed the coaching staff with an assured performance in midfield. He has put pen to paper on a deal until the summer of 2027.
A product of the St Mirren Academy, MacPherson progressed through the youth ranks to establish himself in the first team.
During his time in Paisley, he gained valuable experience in the Scottish Premiership before making the move to fellow top-flight side St Johnstone where he continued to add to his Premiership appearances and further strengthen his reputation as a composed and hard-working midfielder.
MacPherson joins from Greenock Morton where he spent the 2025/26 season and he is comfortable in a variety of midfield roles.
