Police have arrested a 36-year-old man following a number of incidents at various locations across Edinburgh last night. 

Four people have been taken to hospital. 

Officers have not specified any further details of the incidents however posts on social media show a delivery cyclist lying injured on the pavement on Telford Road, and a video posted online shows a man with no shirt on carrying what appears to be a knife on Leith Walk. 

Part of Leith Walk was cordoned off but police have not confirmed whether it was the topless man that was arrested. 

In a statement officers said that they believe there to be no further risk to the public. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 36-year old man has been arrested following a series of incidents at a number of locations across the West of Edinburgh, and Leith, during the evening of Friday, 19 June, 2026. 
 
“Four people were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. 
 
“Enquiries are ongoing, however, we believe there to be no further risk to the public at this time. 
 
“Members of the public are thanked for their assistance.”
