Hibs youngster Lewis Gillie has signed a new contract with the Club.
The 18-year-old has penned a two-year deal to keep him at Easter Road until 2028.
Gillie, a Scotland U19 international, became Hibs sixth youngest appearance-maker when he made his first-team debut at just 16 years old in January 2025, coming off the bench against Clydebank in the Scottish Cup.
He also starred as the youngsters won the 2024/25 CAS Elite Youth League title and featured in the 2025/26 UEFA Youth League campaign – scoring against FC 2 Korriku at Easter Road – before he was provided the opportunity to gain more valuable experience in senior football for the latter half of the campaign.
Last season, the defender joined Scottish Championship outfit Arbroath in January, where he made two appearances for the Red Lichties.
Hibs head coach David Gray said: “Lewis fully deserves his new contract as recognition for everything he has achieved over the last few years.
“I thought he was excellent when he made his First Team debut against Clydebank in the Scottish Cup, and it’s moments like that that will give Lewis a real boost and the belief that he can work his way into the First Team.
“Lewis is a confident boy, with a really good attitude. He is a strong, powerful defender – with great potential – and I am sure that if he works hard, he will go from strength to strength over the next few years.”
Hibs Sporting Director Malky Mackay added: “We’re all delighted that Lewis has signed a new contract with the Club, and it’s great to see another young player develop through our Academy system.
“Lewis had his first stint in senior football last season with Arbroath in the Scottish Championship. That exposure to senior football will do him a world of good, and we’re all looking forward to watching him develop here at Hibs.”
