Hibs have announced the signing of experienced centre-back Jason Kerr – subject to SFA clearance.
The 29-year-old has penned a two-year deal, keeping him at the Club until Summer 2028.
Kerr becomes David Gray’s first signing of the Summer Transfer Window ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, having departed EFL League One side Wigan Athletic after almost five years.
During that time, Kerr won the League One title during his first season and made 150 appearances in all competitions, including 37 as captain during the 2025/26 campaign.
Kerr began his senior career at St Johnstone, and during his time at McDiarmid Park, he captained the Saints to the greatest season in their history by lifting the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Cup in 2020/21.
The Edinburgh native arrives at Easter Road armed with experience, having clocked up almost 400 senior appearances, and will bring a combination of quality, knowledge and leadership to Hibs squad.
After Kerr put pen-to-paper, Hibs head coach David Gray said: “We’re delighted to have brought someone of Jason’s quality to the Football Club.
“He’s performed at a high level throughout his career and has a real desire to compete at the top level back in Scotland.
“His experience, quality on the ball, and leadership will strengthen us defensively, and he has the capacity to play in any role across our back three.
“He’s a real leader both on and off the pitch, and a player of his experience will add a lot to the team. I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
