Four members of staff at Pettycur Bay Holiday Park are taking part in the challenging Macmillan Rob Roy Mighty Hike 2026, hoping to raise around £1,500 for the charity.
Wendy Stevens, Eve Dunsmore and Gill McGibbon who are all based in the office, will be joined by Debbie Williamson who works in the restaurant. Additionally, Eve’s sister, Maya Bonellie who used to work in the Park’s shop in the summer whilst at University, is also taking part in the hike.
The group believe that Macmillan is an incredible charity that does amazing work, providing care and support to people living with cancer and their families. After experiencing the loss of loved ones, this cause holds special meaning for our team, and one that is very close to our hearts,”
“Last year, we believe it was torrential rain, so we’re hoping for some sunshine and minimal blisters!” they added.
“One of our team members has done the walk in the past, and has warned up what to expect! We know this won’t be easy, and with varying fitness levels within the team, and plenty of miles ahead across the Trossachs, we’re expecting a real challenge. It’s all part of the experience and one we are proud to be part of!”
“It would be incredible to reach our target of £1500. That would mean a great deal to us, with anything beyond that even better. Commenting on the challenge, Janet Murray, who is the General Manager of Pettycur Bay Holiday Park, said: “We really commend the staff members who are going out of their comfort zones to complete this tough challenge. We wish them all the very best and will be thinking of them on the 29th of August when they undertake the hike. Charity is very close to our hearts here at Pettycur, with us, as both a business and as individuals, regularly contributing to local causes. The Park has raised thousands of pounds towards charities such as the RNLI and Guide Dogs for the Blind. Last year we also hosted our first Macmillan Coffee Morning, it was a great success, and we will be doing it again on 26th September.
