The Centre for Military Research, Education Practice and Engagement and Scotland’s Veterans Wellbeing Alliance are delighted to invite serving personnel, veterans, reservists, military families, support organisations, and members of the wider community to our Armed Forces Community “Big Day Out”.
A spokesperson said: “Join us for a free fun day out at the historic Craiglockhart Campus and enjoy an afternoon of activities, entertainment, information, and community connection. Whether you come on your own, with family, friends, or even your dog, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.”
Highlights include:
- Information stalls from organisations supporting the Armed Forces community
- Craft activities and family-friendly entertainment
- Adult Chill Time spaces
- Dog Show and Talent Competition (free to enter with prizes to be won)
- Pipes and Drums performances
- Mocktail Making
- Cake and refreshments
- Guided opportunities to explore our beautiful campus
- Tours of the renowned War Poets Collection and Library
This event is an opportunity to celebrate Armed Forces Day, connect with others, discover services and opportunities available across Scotland, and spend time together in one of Edinburgh’s most historic and welcoming university settings.
Attendance is free and everyone is welcome.
