Police in Edinburgh have been carrying out patrols and intelligence led activities with the assistance of the Air Support Unit in response to community concerns about the illegal and antisocial use of off-road bikes and Surron style electric bikes.
As a result of this Operation an illegal electric off-road bike has been seized and the rider charged with numerous road traffic offences.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Further patrols will be carried out across the city and we will not hesitate to take enforcement action.
“The use of illegal or modified bikes poses a huge risk to riders, pedestrians and other road users and we would urge anyone with information to contact us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
