Chris Harris was determined to qualify for the Grand Prix Challenge in Terenzano in Italy on July 25 when he went to the tapes in Glasgow in the FIM World Championship qualifier, and he achieve his aim.
The 43-year-old Glasgow Tigers racer (pictured by Taylor Lannning) was the fifth and final qualifier from Ashfield with 11 points.
The winner was Kai Huckenbeck (Germany) with 15 points followed by Jack Holder (Australia) on 12 points following a run-off.
Anders Rowe (Great Britain) was third also on 12 points with Frederick Jakobsen (Denmark) fourth also after a run-off.
I recall watching the Speedway at Meadowbank like it was yesterday. Well done to Chris Harris, one of the best of the modern era.
