Balerno Community Council have confirmed the date and time of the public meeting on the local place plan.

It is on Thursday, July 9 at 7.30pm in the St Joseph Hall next to Balerno Parish Church.

A recent survey received nearly 250 responses and council officials heard from residents at the recent Gala Day in the village.

Residents can also give their views at the next Balerno Farmers’ Market on Saturday, June 13 in the Main Street.

Mark Galloway, who is leading the project on behalf of the Community Council, said a working group was meeting regularly to prepare text for the plan.

Interest is high in the village as residents are keen to help chart the future of Balerno and the local place plan is scheduled for submission to the City of Edinburgh Council by September.
