A Liberton golfer is hoping to raise up to £5,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis charity on his home course after his first grandchild was born with the ailment.
The event is open to all and Harold Feather is recruiting teams of four players at £30 per head for an event on Friday, 26 June.
Attending will be little Harry Feather who has just celebrated his 1st birthday.
Harold says:”Following the routine newborn tests, Harry was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) a few weeks later.
“This came as a massive shock to all of us, especially as we had no understanding of the condition and what this actually meant.”
Inspired to do something that could help both Harry and other families affected by CF, Harold decided to organise and host a charity golf day in aid of the Trust.
“I have three reasons for organising the golf day. “One is to raise awareness of CF.
“The second is to raise as much money as possible for Cystic Fibrosis Trust who, as i’ve found out over the last few months, do an awful lot to help all CF families cope with the challenges.
“And my final objective is to have fun,” said Harold.
And Harold isn’t the only family member who has taken to fundraising for life-changing research. Harry’s Auntie Katie took part in the 2026 TCS London Marathon.
