The Giant Lanterns trail will be back at Edinburgh Zoo this winter with a new theme – a magical space safari.
After a successful run last winter, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) will again be transforming the zoo from November 2026 to February 2027 with a cosmic glow up of colour, creativity and wonder.
More than 600 lanterns will shine a light on incredible wildlife with an interstellar twist. There will be lanterns ranging from celestial planets to galactic jungles.
Visitors can expect to be transported on a spectacular journey through the Milky Way, where out of this world creatures explore glittering galaxies in a mile-long nocturnal trail.
Edinburgh Zoo’s Giant Lanterns will engage visitors of all ages with animals and science in a fun, memorable way, supporting the wildlife conservation charity’s vital ongoing efforts to protect, value and love nature.
