A meeting will be held next week to discuss the proposal to reopen the Edinburgh South Suburban Railway to passenger traffic.
Local campaign group Tram Trains for Edinburgh proposes reopening the South Suburban railway through Morningside, Newington and Cameron Toll – out East to Portobello and West to Murrayfield, to the airport and city centre.
A spokesperson said: “The scheme would provide a fast and efficient service on the existing line – so with lower costs and less disruption than similar plans – and is gaining strong support with the public and transport professionals. Come along and hear about:
“The project, using tram trains to provide a fast and efficient public transport service around the South Sub.”
The meeting will offer an update on the campaign’s progress, report on specific issues local to Newington/Liberton/Cameron Toll, and will offer an opportunity for feedback from people at the meeting.
