A man and woman have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal after being found in possession of stolen food.
Community officers were on patrol last night and came across the pair trying to sell a quantity of meat products at a pub in Slateford.
Further enquiry was conducted by the officers who discovered that the items had been stolen earlier from a nearby supermarket.
The meat was returned to the store.
A police spokesperson said: “If you are aware of the resale of stolen goods in your community please report this to police or you can also do this anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
