Hearts appeal against Marc Leonard’s red card issued in the dying seconds of Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Livingston in the William Hill Premiership has been rejected.
The 24-year-old, Glasgow-born midfielder pulled back Livi substitute Robbie Muirhead near the half-way line on the main stand side and the fast-track tribunal agreed that referee Kevin Clancy was correct in sending the Hearts player off.
Leonard will miss Saturday’s final game in the regular season against Motherwell at Tynecastle on Saturday (15.00).
Derek McInnes, Hearts’ head coach, told media in midweek: “I am almost 100 per cent certain that Robbie Muirhead is not going to have the speed or the capability to get straight in on goal without having to beat one of our players.”
