Celtic plan to appeal the red card decision in Sunday’s 2-2 draw in the William Hill Premiership against Hearts at Tynecastle.
American defender Auston Trusty was dismissed after he tangled with Jambos forward, Pierre Landry Kabore, with Celtic leading 2-1 at the time.
Trusty was originally shown a yellow card by match referee Steven McLean but VAR advised a review and the official felt The Hoops player had denied Kabore a goal-scoring opportunity.
The card was upgraded from yellow to red and Trusty walked after 77 minutes. Claudio Braga then scored to level.
Celtic manager, Martin O’Neill, said post-game: “It is not a red card.”
